Santa Cruz, CA – May 5, 2010 - Organizers of the May 14~16 Santa Cruz “Understanding Deep Politics” conference have announced a three-day summit to shed light on the underlying corrupt forces in our history and current events covered up by the corporate media and to craft tenable strategies of response.

According to Understanding Deep Politics coordinator Gabriel Day, “We believe the most powerful catalyst for positive social change would be a widespread understanding of deep politics and a corresponding courageous outpouring of activism addressing the roots of the crises we face. We hope that all participants will emerge from this weekend considerably smarter, better networked and more hopeful to take on the challenges of our times.”

Agenda: The speakers at this unprecedented gathering promise to expose the roots of our current crises with despotic governance, financial plunder, imperialism, loss of civil liberties, and assaults on public health as well as the corporate media’s role in maintaining a lethal status quo.

The weekend culminates with two interactive solutions-focused panels where these expert speakers will combine forces to discuss ways to address these deep political realities.
